In 2001, I started painting my aunt's facade. That single project quickly escalated when her neighbor, and soon the whole neighborhood, asked me to do the same for them. I had no formal training back then, but I learned fast that a great finish lives or dies in the preparation.
You can paint a wall in a day with two thin coats, and it will look fine for twelve months. Or, you can take the time to apply two proper coats with solid prep, and deliver a finish that holds up for years.
